As a small, community-focused nonprofit for nearly 2 decades, we provide vital housing counseling services that empower individuals and families to navigate the path to homeownership, sustain their households, and achieve long-term financial stability. We believe that stable, affordable housing is the foundation of a thriving community. Through direct resident support, strategic partnerships, and active community engagement, GO Northwest serves a community hub, working every day to grow, sustain, and expand homeownership , and strengthen the neighborhoods we serve. Role Summary We are looking for an innovative, resourceful, solution-oriented communicator and relationship builder as our Community Outreach and Engagement Manager. In this role, you will drive our community presence on the ground and online to:
  • Promote and engage residents in our housing counseling programs, boost program participation, and connect residents to resources to obtain, maintain, and retain their homes, and sustain their communities
  • Partner with community residents, organizations, stakeholders to address community issues and coordinate solutions
  • Produce and implement outreach and marketing campaigns to engage participation in Center and community activities
  • Produce and disseminate promotional content and materials about Center services and activities
  • Track, document and communicate marketing and outreach outcomes and funder deliverables Job Responsibilities Community Relationship Building & Outreach
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with residents, associations, faith leaders, and neighborhood stakeholders to promote and connect residents to GO Northwest services and relevant community resources;
  • Organize, engage and partner with neighborhood residents and stakeholders to identify priorities, gather input, develop and implement solutions, and deliver results.
  • Plan and implement community activities and outreach campaigns to engage residents in and support neighborhood development /investment in partner Northwest Baltimore communities.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, gatherings, housing and related events
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships and collaborations with schools, financial institutions, stakeholders and city agencies Marketing & Communications
  • Actively promote our housing counseling programs utilizing public speaking, print, digital, and social media to increase awareness and usage of GO Northwest services
  • Create, schedule, and publish relevant content across our social media and online platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, website) to increase engagement, share housing resources, and raise program awareness.
  • Produce and distribute marketing/informational materials (flyers, brochures, newsletters).
  • Capture photos, videos, and testimonials from Center activities to showcase Center achievements. Program Management
  • Implement and manage grant and project deliverables to ensure compliance with finder requirements
  • Collect, track, and maintain program performance metrics, expenditures, and outcomes for GO Northwest and funder reporting.
  • Produce and maintain reports, documentation, and information for GO Northwest and funder program outcomes and deliverables.
  • Assist with budgeting, purchasing, reporting, and identifying and preparing funding opportunities
  • Be knowledgeable and keep abreast of community and related issues and activities that impact community and GO Northwest projects, mission and goals Responsibilities listed do not represent all job functions that may be required or performed by this position.

Qualifications:
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree, minimum 2-4 years of work experience in community outreach, community organizing, marketing, public relations, communications, or related field. Associate degree and 5 or more years of work experience in aforementioned areas is also eligible.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills: comfortable talking and working with diverse people of varying ages, incomes, races, ethnicities, and genders.
  • Excellent written communication, public speaking and active listening skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with utilizing social, print, and online media: experience with basic design platforms, and website management
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); use of photography desirable.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities: detailed oriented and possessing effective problem-solving skills:
  • Strong project management skills: experience in implementing and managing community activities in a community setting.
  • Self-starter showing initiative: experienced in working independently and as part of a team.
  • Deep knowledge of Baltimore City neighborhoods, government agencies, and community/housing resources; familiarity with Northwest Baltimore neighborhoods and issues desirable
  • Project a professional, appropriate job image to external and internal customers, constituents, partners and staff.
  • Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, judgment, and enthusiasm
  • Maintains confidentiality, discretion, and integrity Requirements
  • Morning, evening, and/or weekend hours are required as determined by program needs and assigned.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, and own and have available for use an operable motor vehicle.
  • Operate office equipment and technology successfully, i.e., computer hardware and software systems, virtual systems (Teams, Zoom), copiers, faxes, phones, projector, and camera.
  • Able to lift and carry at least 20 lbs.
  • Able to carry, set up/ break down equipment, materials, activities, and displays.
  • Possess basic math skills.
Salary :
