Community Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator HOPE for St. Mary's County | Circles SMC St. Mary's County, Maryland Part-Time Temporary W-2 Position $20/hour | Up to 15 hours per week Initial term: 3 months, with possible 3-month extension Position Summary HOPE for St. Mary's County is seeking an outgoing, organized, community-minded Community Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator to help grow Circles SMC and strengthen community partnerships. This is an active outreach position—not a desk-only job. The Coordinator will meet people throughout St. Mary's County, build relationships with businesses and community organizations, attend events, recruit participants and volunteers, and provide consistent follow-up. Key Responsibilities Recruit Circle Leaders, Allies, and Community Team Volunteers Work toward recruitment goals of 25 Circle Leaders, 25 Allies, and 18 Community Team Volunteers Build relationships with employers, churches, businesses, libraries, apartment communities, agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations Develop referral partnerships and follow up with prospective participants and volunteers Attend community and volunteer recruitment events Conduct employer outreach, especially in defense/technical, healthcare, education, and government Recruit sponsors for Tuesday evening Circles dinners Promote Circles SMC through social media and community networks Maintain accurate recruitment and outreach tracking using Google Sheets Help interested individuals move to the next step: brunch, application, interview, orientation, or volunteer onboarding Required Schedule The position is flexible outside of required activities.

Monthly Community Brunch Other scheduled outreach and recruitment events Some evening and weekend work is required. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is: Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable starting conversations Organized, dependable, and consistent with follow-up Comfortable approaching businesses, employers, churches, agencies, and community organizations Able to work independently Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances Proficient with email, social media, Google Docs, and Google Sheets Familiar with St. Mary's County Able to travel locally with reliable transportation Access to NAS Patuxent River is a plus, but not required. Performance & Position Term Performance will be based on measurable recruitment and outreach activity, including participant and volunteer recruitment, new referral relationships, employer outreach, community partnerships, dinner sponsorships, timely follow-up, accurate tracking, and participation in required activities. The position may be extended for an additional three months based on performance, progress toward goals, and program needs. About Circles SMC Circles SMC is our local chapter of Circles USA® . The program helps motivated neighbors work toward greater financial stability by building relationships, expanding social capital, strengthening support networks, and connecting people with new opportunities and resources.Pay:
$20.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 15.0 per week Application Question(s): Do you have a valid driver license and reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout St. Mary's County for community outreach? Are you available to attend monthly meetings on the first and second Thursdays and Community Brunches on the second Saturday of each month?
