Job Description

FOVNDRY, a branding and communications agency, seeks a full-time Junior Outreach Specialist to join our N. Bethesda, MD (Rockville) team. This is a field-based role. The majority of the work is conducted on-site at in-person events at residential and commercial properties in areas surrounding Rockville, MD, with the balance spent supporting marketing and communications efforts for other agency clients, as assigned. Approximately 75% of event work falls during standard business hours. The remainder is spread across evenings and weekends over the course of the year rather than occurring weekly. Schedules are coordinated in advance around known off-hours events, and the position is not expected to exceed a standard work week. The ideal candidate is a proactive and adaptable marketing professional with a passion for engaging with communities and promoting meaningful initiatives. They should possess an innate ability to craft compelling, articulate narratives that resonate with diverse audiences, fostering connections and encouraging participation in our client's programs and initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up, attend, and professionally represent clients at in-person tabling events at residential and commercial properties in areas surrounding Rockville, MD Promote and serve as a brand ambassador for client programs and initiatives, utilizing a variety of handouts and communication techniques to engage with the public effectively Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, as a representative of FOVNDRY and client teams, ensuring all interactions reflect our commitment to excellence and client satisfaction Support the development and implementation of outreach strategies that effectively communicate the value and impact of our clients' programs, driving participation and engagement from targeted communities Coordinate with internal teams to gather materials and information necessary for successful event execution, including promotional materials, program details, and logistical requirements Take photos of tabling events with visitors and track and report visitor totals Support analysis and reporting on the effectiveness of outreach efforts, providing insights and recommendations for future initiatives to maximize reach and impact Support marketing and communications work for other agency clients as assigned, which may include project management, content development, or similar efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and persuasions Availability for evening and weekend events that arise over the course of the year, coordinated in advance Reliable transportation (out-of-pocket mileage fees incurred traveling to or from events on behalf of FOVNDRY and/or its clients will be compensated at the government-approved rate; parking will be reimbursed at cost) Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, both internally and externally, demonstrating initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to transport and set up event materials, including a collapsible table, signage, and printed handouts, and comfort working at outdoor sites in a range of weather conditions (seating is provided) Prior experience in marketing and outreach capacities, engaging communities and promoting programs or initiatives preferred Candidates with bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are strongly encouraged to apply, as the ability to communicate in multiple languages can significantly enhance outreach efforts within diverse communities.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 annually, based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
