Job Description

Reports to:
Program Manager Job Classification:
Part-time ( about15 hours per week), Non Exempt; $25 per hour
Benefits:
Paid holidays and PTO, Paid professional development
Hours:
Mon-Wed from 9am -2pm primarily, some weekend and evening hours for events

Organization Summary:
Longfellow/Seward Healthy Seniors is a local nonprofit that provides health, social, and support services to older adults in the greater Longfellow, Seward, Cedar-Riverside and Phillips neighborhoods. We offer culturally appropriate nurse clinics, health programs, art & fitness classes, technology help, transportation, grocery shopping, household aid, friendly visitors, caregiver respite, support groups, and food assistance to a diverse community of older adults.
Position Overview:
The Outreach Coordinator supports Longfellow/Seward Healthy Seniors' mission by building community connections, assisting with program operations, and strengthening volunteer engagement. This part-time role works closely with the Program Manager to connect older adults with food resources, conduct outreach, recruit volunteers, and represent the organization at community events.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Community Engagement & Outreach Collaborate with Program Manager to represent LSHS at community meetings, events, and inter-agency gatherings. Build and maintain relationships with community partners and service organizations. Recruit members, volunteers, and program providers as needed Promote the organization's mission and services within the community. 2.
Program Support Food Shelf:
Maintain positive relationship with foodshelf partners Help members understand Food Shelf availability Take weekly orders from members for food shelf needs Organize volunteers to assist in distribution of food Execute weekly food shelf support Record data as needed
Data Entry:
Provide accurate and timely data entry for programs as assigned including (but not limited to) membership forms and activities, volunteer forms and activities, and other information as required for organizational infrastructure and grant reporting. 3. Volunteer Support Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment and retention plan, including outreach, application, and screening to match the volunteer needs of the Program Manager. 4. Other Duties as Assigned Provide general support as needed Participate in professional development and training opportunities
Qualifications:
Experience working with volunteers and/or older adults recommended Strong organizational and communication skills. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Basic computer skills required; Google suite and online meeting platforms and social media, experience with databases a plus. Flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend events. Driver's License and Vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
Work Environment:
This is a part-time position based at the LSHS office and service sites (travel required within the community). Lifting (up to 30 lbs) and loading and physical activity is necessary.
