Job Title :
Community Engagement Coordinator Reports To:
Executive Director Hours:
35 - 40 hours per week. On occasion this may include evening and weekend hours.
Mission:
Hall County Leadership Unlimited educates individuals committed to developing leadership skills to improve our community.
Position Summary:
Responsible for the coordination and execution of the Elevate Grand Island Program and assistance to the Executive Director with development and marketing duties to include donation tracking and acknowledgements, annual event planning, marketing and outreach efforts. Essential skills include strong communication aptitude (written and verbal), strong organizational skills, and computer proficiency (Word, Excel).
Program Summary:
Elevate Grand Island is a program for immigrants making Grand Island their new home. Leadership Unlimited has developed this program to empower and equip immigrants for their journey into community leadership. The program encourages the discovery of leadership potential, while revealing community opportunities and creating a welcoming environment for new relationships. The program is a hands-on learning experience that creates opportunities for mutual learning and relationship building between partipcants and community leaders.
General Responsibilities:
The following does not imply that these are the only duties required. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate.
  • Coordinate all activities related to Elevate Grand Island including: Setting Session dates, locations, meals, speakers, materials, and graduation ceremony.
Communicate with Elevate Grand Island class members and community partners. Track participant evaluations, contact information, and program data. Responsible for the conduct of program participants, speakers, and visitors to ensure safety. Assist with the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date information on program participants.
  • Responsible for the successful implementation of fundraising events in cooperation with the board, committee, executive director, volunteers and staff members.
Assist executive director to organize solicitation drives (e.g. appeal letter, newsletter, social media campaign) for pledges of ongoing support from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Work with program staff to identify funding related projects.
  • Provide information to youths, adults, board members, and the public by phone and in person, in a courteous, helpful and respectful manner to market Leadership Unlimited in a positive light to Grand Island, the surrounding communities, and donors.
  • Focus on development and public affairs matters including (but not limited to): PowerPoint presentations, executive correspondences and speeches, general content for the website, social media, and newsletters, etc.
  • Present, as needed, and network to the community to gain funding and volunteers as needed at applicable community programs, resource fairs and networking events.
  • Produce marketing materials and disperse after approved.
  • Provide cultural expertise and support to Hall County Leadership Unlimited to expand outreach efforts to intentionally engage New Americans and under-represented populations in Hall County.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations and businesses to enhance and expand collaborative outreach efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, donations received, fundraising processes and procedures, and work with the executive director to ensure records are accurate.
  • Enter agency donations in the donor database and generate acknowledgement letters.
  • Lead, with the assistance of the executive director, the preparation, marketing, and execution of events, to include translating information as needed.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all dealings and transactions with clients, staff, and donors.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
Job Qualifications:

    • Passion for the mission and vision of Hall County Leadership Unlimited
    • Bilingual, preferably in English/Spanish
    • Experience in a professional environment, required
    • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain and foster relationships across a diverse set of individuals, public speaking experience is a plus
    • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
    • Experience in event planning and marketing is preferred
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills including the ability to maintain effective working and community relationships
    • Flexible hours including work outside normal business hours, on weekends and evenings as required
