Job Description

Coordinates communications, events, programs, and initiatives within the Community Services department. This role will be outward facing, focusing primarily on participant/community engagement and facilitation of programming across our school-based and student-advancement initiatives. The individual in this role would be comfortable and competent delivering in-person and virtual presentations/workshops to high school and college students. The individual in this role would be mobile, with the willingness and ability to travel throughout Northwell's catchment (Long Island, NYC, Westchester, Hudson Valley, & Connecticut), including evenings and weekends. Job Responsibility Coordinates and organizes internal and external events including developing and implementing an itinerary; scheduling of staff and volunteers; securing available resources, supplies and potential locations; assuring coordination of all involved in the event. Composes and edits internal and external communications such as press releases for approval. Interfaces with print and electronic media, as dictated. Performs Initial design and places advertising including signage. Assists in the creation of hospital brochures, flyers, posters, handouts, booklets. Compiles and analyzes basic information for inclusion in reports or presentation materials, prepares charts, graphs, or tables as necessary. Schedules business appointments, meetings, etc.; Maintains files and records, Digital Photography; Takes minutes at meetings; Answers phone for community inquiries; provides approved information. Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action. Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 1-3 years of relevant experience, required. Professional experience working with adolescents and young adults. Experience as an educator/in an educational environment, highly preferred. Experience creating/implementing curriculum. Case management or similar experience, highly preferred. Ability to speak Spanish Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
