A Community or Political Organizer works to unite citizens around a concern, ranging from reducing environmental pollution to fighting prejudice. Can be involved in organizing and working on political campaigns to advance social goals.
The primary role of the Community Development Coordinator is to perform a variety of planning functions to ensure the achievement of the CRA goals/requirements. The position involves the facilitation and coordination of Community Development volunteer activities in order to help the achieve its CRA goal for Community Development Services. The positon will require working with external community partners while serving as a liaison and support for Community Development Outreach Managers to certify the eligibility of events, gathering event activities, establishing the requirements in the "Give First" volunteer platform, and recruiting associates to support events. In addition to coordination responsibilities, the Community Development Coordinator may also be responsible of critical tasks essential to the achievement of its CRA requirements, such as maintaining internal policy and procedural documentation, serving as a backup for Data Analyst responsibilities, assisting with the coordination of Advisor Board and Foundation activities as required, etc.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Work with Community Outreach Managers and Community organizations to coordinate associates to provide financial expertise and perform CRA qualified services and coordinated volunteer events. Maintain Community Development policy and procedure documentation to ensure it is review and updated at the appropriate intervals and by the appropriate resource. Coordinate the collection of information from internal departments and help prepare the CRA Public File. Coordinate activities related to the grant and sponsorship applications/ awards (Review of applications, notification to applicants, distribution of checks, etc.) Work with Non-Profit community partners to coordinate needs from the in support of event sponsorship (logos, attendees, in-kind services, etc.) Maintain contents of the Community Development Intranet site. Primary owner of the Community Development email mailbox. Assist the Community Development team to manage strategies that ensure compliance with the CRA Policy. Assist in the preparation of information to be furnished to examiners during a CRA Exam as well as, internal / external regulatory audits. Limited representation of the at public events, community meetings and at internal and external visibility opportunities. Other duties and projects as needed . Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational, managerial and project management skills. Well-developed customer relations skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously. Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience. Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Willing to learn the business of community development and share internally and externally
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Previous experience with event coordination. Previous roles requiring external client contact. Have an understanding of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and regulations

This position requires and individual that displays the ability to work effectively with senior leaders of the organization to effectively implement strategic business plans, and achieve the desired results.
Degree of Independence and Decision-Making:
This position requires an individual that displays the ability to work in partnership with associates of all levels to achieve a desired outcome. They will work with the members of the Community Development team to identify volunteer opportunities, and members of the community to coordinate events. This will require them to work independently and with little direction to organize and recruit participants to represent the organization as required by the specific event.
