CORE Susquehanna AmeriCorps members serve with local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations throughout central Pennsylvania to address community needs in Healthy Futures, Education, Volunteer Management, and Community Service. In this full-time AmeriCorps service position, you will serve with Susquehanna Valley United Way in Sunbury, Pennsylvania , helping individuals and families connect with community resources and strengthening awareness of services available throughout the region. Susquehanna Valley United Way works with local agencies and community partners to improve financial stability, health, and access to essential services. The organization places a particular emphasis on supporting ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households , or households that earn above the federal poverty level but still struggle to afford basic necessities. This is not a traditional employment position . It is a full-time AmeriCorps national service commitment. Members receive a living allowance and benefits while serving and may earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award after successfully completing their service term. What You'll Do Your service will focus on helping community members learn about and connect with resources that may be available to them. As the Community Resource & ALICE Outreach Coordinator, you will: Welcome community members looking for information about local resources Help individuals identify community services and referral options based on their needs Maintain and update information about local service providers, assistance programs, and referral agencies Help create and distribute community resource guides and educational materials Support outreach efforts that increase awareness of the United Way's ALICE initiative Participate in community events promoting available programs and services Help strengthen relationships with local nonprofits, service providers, and referral agencies Assist with community outreach events and volunteer engagement Track outreach activities, community contacts, and resource referrals Help evaluate outreach efforts and identify ways to improve access to community resources You will serve under the supervision of United Way staff. This position supports and expands the organization's existing services and does not replace staff or independently provide case management or counseling. Your Service Commitment Full-Time AmeriCorps Service Term August 2026 - August 2027 1,700 service hours
