Syrenity House Empowered (SHE) is seeking an outgoing, motivated and community-focused Community Outreach & Engagement Coordinator to expand awareness of our behavioral health and youth services throughout the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area and surrounding communities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, community engagement, relationship building and connecting individuals and organizations with behavioral health and community resources.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain professional relationships with community organizations, behavioral health providers, social service agencies, healthcare providers, care managers, schools, nonprofits, faith-based organizations and other community partners. Educate community partners regarding SHE programs and available services. Represent the agency at health fairs, community events, networking events, resource fairs and community meetings. Coordinate informational tables, outreach activities and community presentations. Distribute agency brochures and educational materials throughout the community. Identify opportunities for community partnerships and collaborative programming. Maintain communication with existing community partners and develop new professional relationships. Assist community members and professionals with obtaining information regarding agency services and community resources. Maintain an outreach/contact log documenting community visits, meetings, events and partnership-development activities. Assist with social media and community announcements related to agency programs and events when appropriate. Work with agency leadership to develop monthly community-outreach goals and strategies. Promote awareness of services while maintaining client choice, confidentiality and all Medicaid, HIPAA and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Experience in community outreach, behavioral health, healthcare, social services, marketing, public relations or community engagement preferred. Knowledge of Charlotte-Mecklenburg community resources strongly preferred. Strong communication and networking skills. Comfortable meeting with community agencies and speaking with small groups. Ability to work independently and manage an outreach schedule. Reliable transportation and ability to attend community events. Behavioral-health or human-services experience is a plus.

Schedule:

Flexible / Part-time. Some daytime, evening and occasional weekend community events may be available.

Pay:

$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
