Work Schedule:
37.5 hours per week Purpose Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester is seeking a Community Outreach & Enrollment Coordinator to recruit prospective volunteer mentors, increase community awareness, and guide volunteers, youth, and families through the enrollment process. This position conducts outreach, responds to inquiries, completes interviews and screenings, coordinates required documentation, and maintains accurate records while ensuring all enrollment activities follow BBBSR and BBBSA standards. Essential Functions Conduct community outreach and recruitment efforts to engage prospective volunteer mentors, youth, families, and non-mentoring volunteers. Coordinate information sessions, orientations, tabling events, volunteer recruitment activities, and other outreach opportunities. Respond to inquiries, review applications, collect required documentation, and maintain consistent communication with prospective participants. Conduct interviews and assessments with prospective volunteer mentors, youth, and parents or guardians using BBBS-approved tools and procedures. Coordinate background checks, references, eligibility reviews, and other required screening steps. Build and maintain relationships with community partners and referral sources to strengthen recruitment pipelines. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Matchforce and track recruitment, outreach, screening, and enrollment activity. Support agency events, community initiatives, quality assurance reviews, reporting needs, and other duties as assigned.
Job-Related Qualifications Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior Experience:
At least one year of relevant professional experience.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to travel throughout the Greater Rochester area. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Communications, Business, Community Development, or a related field. Experience in community outreach, recruitment, enrollment, volunteer coordination, human services, customer service, or a related area. Experience conducting interviews, orientations, screenings, or participant intake. Experience working with youth, families, volunteers, schools, or community organizations. Experience with data entry, case management systems, or program documentation. Competencies Verbal and written communication skills. Community outreach and relationship-building skills. Ability to establish rapport with people from different backgrounds. Organization, time management, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple applicants, deadlines, and stages of the enrollment process. Ability to organize and prioritize work independently. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Problem-solving skills, flexibility, and sound judgment. Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and timely records. Professionalism, enthusiasm, creativity, and a can-do attitude.
