Job Description

The Events & Fundraising Coordinator plays a key role in generating revenue to support NAMI Vermont's mission. This position leads the organization's fundraising events, grant activities, and donor engagement efforts. Responsibilities include managing special events, cultivating donor and sponsor relationships, securing grants, and driving strategies that increase organizational income. This is a full-time position @ 32 hours. The position reports to the Executive Director. Special Events & Revenue Generation Lead planning and execution of the online training series (replacing the annual conference) with a focus on maximizing attendance with topics of interest to our membership. Manage all aspects of the annual NAMIWalks Vermont event, ensuring strong fundraising performance and adherence to budget and goals. Coordinate and manage outreach events and exhibit opportunities to expand visibility and attract new supporters. Attend Outreach events and staff NAMI Vermont table as needed. Secure event sponsorships, in‑kind donations, and community partnerships that contribute to revenue growth. Cultivate and steward relationships with sponsors, donors, community partners, and participants to encourage ongoing support. Oversee event logistics, including volunteer coordination, vendor management, and speaker engagement. Communicate effectively with Team Captains, sponsors, participants, donors, and volunteers to maximize fundraising outcomes. Track, evaluate, and report on event performance to ensure fundraising targets are met or exceeded. Serve as staff liaison to the NAMI Vermont Events Committee. Collaborate closely with the Marketing Communications Coordinator to promote events and fundraising initiatives. Support and attend key annual NAMI Vermont events, including NAMIWalks Vermont, Mental Health Advocacy Day, and Annual Conference. Fundraising & Grants Develop and implement additional fundraising events and campaigns that diversify and increase revenue. Organize and execute the annual appeal, including strategy, messaging, donor segmentation, and follow‑up. Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, including individuals, businesses, and community partners. Research, prepare, and submit grant applications in coordination with the Executive Director to secure new funding opportunities. Manage grant reporting requirements, ensuring timely submission of deliverables and compliance with funder expectations. Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, grant deadlines, and fundraising progress. Support the development of long‑term fundraising strategies that strengthen NAMI Vermont's financial sustainability. Requirements Demonstrated knowledge of successful event planning. Proficiency with MS Office. Strong public speaking, interpersonal communication, and public relations skills. Experience working with volunteers, committees, and community leaders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team with a high regard for accountability and outcomes. Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple long-term priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends. Knowledge of and commitment to mental health services and programs a plus! Bachelor's Degree and/or 2-3 years of related experience organizing and managing successful events. Work Environment Have regular access to a personal vehicle and hold a valid operator's license and insurance. Ability to travel in-state (mileage reimbursed). Available for occasional evenings and weekends (for special meetings and events.) Ability to work at the Williston, Vermont office.
