Approximately 37.5 hours per week
Typical schedule: Monday 11:00 AM-7:00 PM; Tuesday-Thursday 9:00 AM-5:00 PM; Friday remote work 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Occasional evenings, weekends, and local travel required for community events
Job Training Includes Experience In:
Event planning and logistics coordination
Community engagement and volunteer management
Public relations and outreach
Marketing and promotional campaigns
Social media and communications
Partnership development and stakeholder engagement
Data tracking and program evaluation
Nonprofit operations and community development
Downtown revitalization initiatives
Fundraising and sponsorship support (limited to approved activities)
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing at least six community events during the service term
Support event logistics including vendors, entertainers, permits, volunteers, and site setup
Develop event planning tools, timelines, and implementation checklists
Support volunteer recruitment and coordination for community events
Assist with outreach to community partners, organizations, and stakeholders
Support creation of promotional materials, event marketing, and outreach efforts
Assist with social media content, announcements, and community communications
Support activation of downtown spaces through community programming
Participate in outreach events, meetings, and community engagement activities
Assist with tracking participation, volunteer involvement, and event outcomes
Support post-event reporting and evaluation activities
Assist with sponsorship and fundraising support activities (no more than 10% of service hours)
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass required National Service Criminal History Checks
Strong communication and organizational skills
Interest in event planning, community development, or nonprofit work
Comfort working with diverse community members and public-facing roles
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace preferred
Willingness to serve occasional evenings and weekends
Reliable transportation preferred
Preferred Experience
Background or interest in marketing, communications, event planning, or nonprofit management
Familiarity with Sunbury and surrounding communities
Experience with social media, design tools, or outreach platforms
