About Revel Revel Treks & Tours is a locally owned tour company based in Palmer, Alaska. In addition to offering guided trips and small-group Alaska trips and travel packages for visitors, we use tourism to create opportunities for local residents to get outside, learn new skills, and build meaningful connections. Our local programming includes community hikes, skis, backpacking trips, plus educational workshops, social outings, and more. In addition to adventures, we help organize several large-scale community events in partnership with the Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation.
These events include:
Winter Discovery Day, Frost Fest:
Winter Resource Fair, a Winter Speaker Series, and a Summer Kick Off event. In 2025 we organized over 80 events for the local community. Some events are hosted as stand-alone Revel events, others are partnership events with local instructors, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Position Overview Revel is seeking a friendly, creative, and organized Part-Time Community Event Coordinator + Membership Administrator to organize our community events and lead the growth and development of the Revel Adventure Club. This person will serve as the primary point of contact for all community events and Adventure Club activities. This position will be responsible for developing, organizing, and marketing community events, growing Adventure Club membership, managing event budgets, and collaborating with Revel's owner, guides, and partners as needed. The ideal candidate is passionate about the local community, bringing people together, and the outdoors. Key Responsibilities Event Coordination and Development Work with the Revel owner, guides, partners, and club members to develop a varied annual calendar of community adventures, educational programs, workshops, social outings, and seasonal events. Plan and implement Revel's annual large-scale events in collaboration with the Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation including but not limited to:
Winter Discovery Day, Frost Fest:
Winter Resource Expo, Winter Speaker Series, and Summer Kick Off events. Create new event concepts based on Adventure Club member interests, community needs, seasonal opportunities, and Revel's mission. Develop event budgets, descriptions, schedules, participant requirements, and registration details as needed. Attend and support select events, including setup, participant check-in, facilitation, cleanup, and troubleshooting. Evaluate events based on attendance, participant feedback, financial performance, and alignment with Revel's goals. Ensure community programs reflect Revel's expectations for safety, education, hospitality, accessibility, and quality. Adventure Club Administrator Develop and implement strategies to grow Revel Adventure Club membership. Help establish annual membership, retention, participation, and revenue goals. Create a welcoming onboarding experience for new members. Communicate with members about upcoming adventures, registration, membership benefits, schedule changes, and account questions. Build relationships with current members and identify ways to improve their experience. Gather member feedback and use it to guide future programming. Track membership growth, renewals, cancellations, participation, and engagement. Help foster an inclusive community for people with different backgrounds, abilities, interests, and levels of outdoor experience. Establish annual goals related to membership, programming, revenue, participation, partnerships, and community impact. Communications and Promotion Write clear, engaging event descriptions, newsletters, emails, and social-media content. Create and maintain Facebook events and other online event listings. Develop promotional campaigns for larger trips and community events. Regularly share upcoming activities, membership benefits, and community stories on Revel's social media channels. Keep Adventure Club information current on Revel's website, registration platform, and calendar. Respond to questions and messages in Revel's warm, approachable voice. Collaborate with the Revel team to maintain consistent messaging across platforms. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Enjoys connecting with people and building community. Can work independently while collaborating closely with Revel's owner, guides, and partners. Is organized and able to manage multiple events, budgets, and deadlines. Is welcoming, dependable, and comfortable communicating with groups. Can think strategically while also managing day-to-day program details. Can work with budgets, track expenses, and evaluate basic financial information. Writes clearly and can adapt Revel's voice for emails, event listings, and social media. Is comfortable using Google Workspace, Mailchimp, social media, and online registration tools. Has reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Is available for some evenings and weekends when community programs take place. Preferred Experience Experience in community engagement, recreation, events, education, hospitality, nonprofit work, membership development, or customer service. Experience developing programs and managing event or department budgets. Familiarity with the Mat-Su and local outdoor recreation. Experience with Mindbody, Canva, Facebook Events, Squarespace, or similar platforms. Schedule and Compensation Part-time, primarily remote - approximately 10-15 hours per week with a maximum of 50 hours per month. Opportunities for additional hours may become available as the business grows. The schedule will vary depending on the community-event calendar, but has a fair amount of flexibility. Evening and weekend availability will be required for select activities. Most administrative, planning, and communications work may be completed remotely. In-person availability is required on occasion for representation at events, team meetings, etc.
Compensation:
$27-$33, depending on experience. Opportunities to lead or assist with outdoor adventures may be available depending on experience and qualifications.
