Community Outreach Liaison Cranston, RI $42.79/hour 6-Month Temporary Assignment Part-Time | 25 Hours Per Week |
Onsite Schedule:
Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 12:00
PM Note:
Some local travel is required. Candidates should be available to work occasional evening hours (1-2 times per week) to attend networking events, trainings, and community outreach activities. Premier Staffing Source, Inc. is seeking an energetic and relationship-driven Program Manager I / Community Outreach Liaison to support a statewide initiative focused on helping employers create healthier, more inclusive, and recovery-supportive workplaces. This position serves as the primary outreach representative, building partnerships with employers, business organizations, and community stakeholders while promoting workplace wellness, reducing stigma, and expanding participation in a statewide certification program. The ideal candidate is an engaging public speaker, skilled relationship builder, and experienced program coordinator who enjoys working directly with businesses and community organizations. Key ResponsibilitiesOutreach, Sales, and Marketing Conduct direct outreach to employers, business associations, chambers of commerce, and community partners to promote Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) certification. Represent the RFW program at business networking events, conferences, after-hours mixers, and community forums. Develop and manage employer leads through the full outreach cycle, including prospecting, introductory meetings, and scheduling certification consultations. Develop and maintain a statewide network of employer contacts using the RFW Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, documenting all outreach and engagement activities. Collaborate with the Program Director to transition qualified employers for certification, technical assistance, and ongoing support. Create outreach materials, presentations, and success stories that demonstrate the business and community impact of the Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative. Education and Training Deliver engaging presentations and workshops to employers, supervisors, and employees on Recovery Friendly Workplace principles, mental health awareness, and substance use prevention. Facilitate educational sessions that promote stigma reduction, effective communication, and employee well-being. Assist employers in meeting Recovery Friendly Workplace certification training requirements and provide ongoing educational support. Represent the program at statewide and regional conferences, professional development events, and community summits. Communications and Public Engagement Develop stories, photographs, and written content for newsletters, websites, and social media highlighting certified employers and community partnerships. Provide regular field updates, event summaries, and success metrics to support program communications. Build and maintain strong partnerships with chambers of commerce, employer associations, recovery organizations, and community stakeholders throughout Rhode Island. Data, Reporting, and Administration Maintain accurate employer contact records, meeting notes, and outreach activities within the CRM system. Prepare weekly and monthly reports summarizing outreach efforts, employer engagement, presentations, and training activities. Contribute to quarterly and annual reports, grant deliverables, and program success stories. Assist in planning and coordinating statewide events, employer recognition ceremonies, educational workshops, and networking opportunities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with employers, human resources professionals, business leaders, and community organizations. Knowledge of behavioral health, substance use disorders, recovery-supportive workplace practices, and workplace wellness initiatives. Demonstrated public speaking, facilitation, and training experience. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, AI productivity tools, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and social media platforms. Demonstrated initiative, creativity, professionalism, and sound judgment. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout Rhode Island. Ability to work occasional early morning, evening, or weekend events. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Health, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred but not required . Three (3) or more years of experience in business development, community outreach, marketing, public engagement, or a related field preferred. Experience delivering presentations, workshops, or professional training required. Lived experience with recovery from substance use disorder and/or mental health challenges preferred but not required . Familiarity with behavioral health, recovery services, or workplace wellness initiatives is highly desirable. Work Environment This position combines office, remote, and field-based work. The Community Outreach Liaison will regularly travel throughout Rhode Island to meet with employers, attend community events, and deliver presentations. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Following successful completion of the six-month probationary period, the position offers a hybrid schedule consisting of four days in the office and one approved remote workday per week .
