Position Overview:

Recovery Friendly Montana is seeking a motivated and community-minded individual to join our team as a half-time Recovery Friendly Workplace Advisor. This position focuses on providing guidance and support to workplaces and key stakeholders in the Billings region as well as expanding the initiative in Billings and surrounding area(s). The RFW Initiative is to promote individual wellness by creating work environments that further mental and physical well-being of employees; proactively preventing substance misuse and supporting recovery from substance use disorders in the workplace and community. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, creative, and passionate about supporting recovery-friendly communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement outreach plans to local businesses to grow and expand the Montana RFW initiative.
• Develop and maintains partnerships with key stakeholders, including: Montana workplaces, multistate workplaces, substance misuse provider community, recovery community, business community, and government sector.
• Deliver direct assistance and support to participating workplaces, with a focus on quality assurance
• standards and program fidelity
• Develop and implement strategies to increase program visibility and engagement.
• Research best practices to strengthen and evolve the RFW model.
• Develops training opportunities, policy examples, and other best practice resources to assist workplaces.
• Ensures timely response and follow-through to inquiries regarding RFW initiative
• Assists with social media posts and marketing/communication efforts
• Support administrative tasks such as coordinating meetings, trainings, and community events.
• Contribute to evaluation activities, including designing tools and tracking program data.
• Contribute/collaborate on writing grant applications.
• Other duties as assigned to support the initiative.

Required Qualifications:

• Two years of education, experience (or a combination of the two) in a business or nonprofit setting providing planning, project coordination, consultation, training, technical assistance or direct services, one year of which shall be in a substance misuse prevention, treatment, or recovery setting.
• Background in public health, human services, human resources, business administration, social or physical sciences or related fields.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to prioritize workplan activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to individuals and groups
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with businesses, other professional and administrative officials, governmental officials and the public.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Problem‑solving ability and eagerness to learn.
• Comfort with public speaking and representing the initiative publicly.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and/or have access to reliable transportation for essential statewide travel

Preferences:

• Knowledge of the theories and methods of public health and substance misuse prevention, treatment and recovery
• Considerable knowledge of community assets and resources, particularly concerning the continuum of care for mental health and substance use disorders
• Considerable knowledge of workplace wellness strategies and/or human resources
• Experience writing grants is a plus.
• Comfortable giving small- and/or large-group presentations.
• Proficiency with Google Suite (Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms)

Additional Information:

• This position is mostly remote, but will require on-site meetings and travel.
• Requires essential travel within Billings and eastern Montana, Montana as a whole, and potentially out-of-state travel.
• Mileage, per diem, and lodging (as needed) are reimbursed at state rates with prior approval.
