Do you have experience in Transportation Demand Management (TDM), community outreach or public engagement? Foursquare Integrated Transportation Planning, Inc. (Foursquare ITP) is looking for qualified, motivated, and passionate candidates to serve as TDM Outreach Coordinators in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region. Foursquare ITP operates TDM programs on behalf of clients nationwide, encouraging commuters, residents, and visitors to bike, walk, scoot, carpool, vanpool, and use public transit through coordinated multi-layered marketing and outreach programs. Role TDM Outreach Coordinators cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with employers, schools, residential and commercial properties, and/or other stakeholders within a geographic area and work to maintain existing and establish new relationships as part of a broader regional effort to change commuter behaviors. The selected candidate will conduct outreach and engagement on behalf our client and will have expertise in: Community outreach and sales strategy using traditional TDM methods. Planning, managing, and implementing outreach to partners, including employers, schools, hospitality and tourism groups, residential and commercial property managers. Public and private sector business-to-business (B2B) consultative sales. Communications, marketing, and task management. Customer service. Commuter incentives and education.
Responsibilities will include:
Develop and maintain excellent client relationships to keep partners interested and involved in initiatives - from brand new to well-established partners. Generate new partners through networking, cold-calling, and other outreach efforts. Increase program awareness and participation rates of existing partners. Plan, coordinate, and staff outreach events (e.g., tabling, resource fairs, information sessions, etc.) to educate partners on benefits of sustainable transportation programs. Help develop communication strategies to promote regional TDM and active transportation events (e.g., Bike to Work Day) and engage partners in modal promotions. Assist with the implementation of programs and initiatives (e.g. carpool/vanpool, Guaranteed Ride Home, telework, transit incentives, parking management, etc.). Track engagement and activities using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, OneCommute). Support the development of relevant partner program resources, materials, and webinars. Prepare and deliver presentations. Oversee fulfillment of swag, program incentives, brochure requests, and staff completion of fulfillment requests. Assist commuters experiencing issues with the commute tracking and perks app/website. Consult with partners to implement effective commuter benefit programs and help partners register employees for services. Administer commuter surveys and needs assessments at partner sites. Coordinate and collaborate with local and regional agencies (e.g., Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments) to support regional initiatives and maintain awareness of regional transportation policies and market shifts. Required Skills and Experience Education and experience requirements: Bachelor's degree in transportation, urban planning, sales, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field. Up to five years' experience working in the public, private, or non-profit sector in a TDM, transportation planning, community engagement, sales, or marketing-related field.
Skills requirements:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and project management skills, detail-oriented, responsive, and flexible. Knowledge of TDM concepts and the benefits of multi-modal transportation options. Ability to bring fresh insight into existing project work. Familiarity with the DMV region and best practices related to past, present, and future transportation initiatives. Location This is a hybrid in-office/work-from-home position, which may require being on-site one or two days per week. The selected candidate must live in or relocate to the District of Columbia region within commuting proximity to downtown. Compensation An individual who meets the minimum requirements would earn $67,100. Salary will increase based on education and experience.
