The Community Coordinator is responsible for public programing for City events, festivals, and workshops. The assistant will help set up, clean up, and advertise public events. The assistant will also be responsible for soliciting and analyzing public feedback and using that feedback to help create new programing and maintain current programing.
Essential Duties:
Create and post advertising to various internet mediums to publicize City programing. Attend City events to assist vendors, the Community Coordinator, and members of the public as needed. Solicit feedback from members of the public regarding City programming. Make recommendations to the Community Coordinator regarding City programing based on the feedback received from the public. Research local vendors that can assist with adding to City programing. Help with set-up and take-down of City equipment during event days.
Requirements:
Able to multitask complex activities while providing services to walk-up, phone, and email customers. Able to clearly and concisely communicate on the phone and in person, provide detailed instructions, and collaborate with customers to solve their problems. Able to address hostile customers in a courteous and calm manner, ensuring concerns are properly addressed.
Language and Physical Demands:
The ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise, understandable, and professional manner with customers, supervisors, and co-workers is required. Multilingual is a plus to allow better customer communication. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work will sometimes be outdoors and subject to heat, cold, wind, weather, and humidity.
Schedule and Benefits:
Hours vary, but will average 20 a week. Weekend and evening work on occasion. Membership in the
SC Retirement System Pay:
