Position Summary
The Development & Outreach Director is a key member of the FADV team and works closely with the Executive Director to advance the organization's mission through strategic fundraising, donor engagement, community partnerships, and public awareness initiatives. In this role you will lead business development efforts, cultivate current donors, identify potential new donors, manage signature fundraising events, and increase community engagement through outreach and communications.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a passion for cultivating relationships in the nonprofit sector. We are a small but motivated team, and our ideal candidate is one who can take the lead on their own initiatives and balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Fundraising
Partner with our Executive Director to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, foundation, and community donors.
Develop and implement strategies to grow the organization's donor base and increase philanthropic support.
Secure corporate sponsorships and nonprofit partnerships that expand funding opportunities and strengthen community engagement.
Events & Community Engagement
Plan, organize, and execute community outreach events and signature fundraising events from concept through completion.
Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, sponsorship fulfillment, volunteer coordination, timelines, and event budgets.
Represent the organization professionally at community events, donor meetings, conferences, and public presentations.
Manage the organization's social media strategy and content to increase awareness, engage supporters, promote events, and communicate organizational impact.
Plan and facilitate one-of-a-kind statewide roundtables of domestic violence shelters and service providers to strengthen collaboration, shared learning, and coordinated services across Utah.
