The Ministry Engagement Coordinator oversees the Ministry Engagement program and sees that the Community Engagement Ministry Vision is carried out. The Ministry Engagement Coordinator also supports the Mission and Hospitality ministries administratively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in community engagement or volunteer coordination.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with various ministries at Brookfield Lutheran and local community mission partners.
• A friendly demeanor with a genuine passion for helping others.
• Spiritually mature, active member of Brookfield Lutheran Church who has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Supports Brookfield Lutheran Strategic Plan and the Member Engagement Ministry Vision
• Understands and appreciates the nature of volunteers.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee a Ministry Engagement program. a. Continue to grow in knowledge and ability to coordinate the Ministry Engagement program through study of resources and training opportunities. b. With input from the Core Team, work to establish and manage a yearly budget. c. Meet regularly with the Ministry Engagement coaches. 2. Oversee, coordinate, and work with other staff members, Core Team, implementation teams, and other individuals serving in the Ministry Engagement program to carry out the Ministry Engagement vision, which will include the following eight key components. a. Biblical Foundations b. Culture and Awareness c. Assimilation d. Discovery 1) Serve as one of the facilitators and guides for the Discovery Classes. e. Matching and Placement f. Communication 1) Utilize the OneChurch database to implement and enter data; use the data to assist leaders in finding appropriate people to serve. 2) Ensure that new and revised ministry descriptions are being uploaded to the Brookfield Lutheran serving flipbook and on the Onechurch app. 3) Ensure that service opportunities are effectively communicated to the congregation. 4) Regularly communicate with staff, board members, and ministry leaders through the BLC weekly email. 5) Attend staff meetings. 6) Communicate with the congregation regarding Ministry Engagement. 7) Submit monthly reports to Community Engagement and Xteam. g. Equipping h. Recognition and Reflection 3. Assist in local and global Mission Experience team preparations. (i.e. flights, logistics, group communication, training materials, etc.) 4. Assist Hospitality with group management and scheduling for service opportunities.

Time Commitment:

Full-time, with flex time based on workload; some evening and weekend hours will be required. A minimum three-year commitment is desirable.

Relationships:

The Ministry Engagement Coordinator collaborates with staff, board members, ministry leaders, and individual members of the Spiritual Family. The coordinator oversees and works with the Ministry Engagement Core Team, implementation teams, and other individuals serving in Community Engagement, Missions, and Hospitality teams. The Ministry Engagement Coordinator directly reports to the Director of Missions and Leadership.

Training:

Training will occur through personal reading and research, online training, and mentoring with Faith Unleashed Consultants and Missions and Leadership Development Director.
