JOB SUMMARY
The Development Coordinator is responsible for leading the planning and execution of all aspects of annual giving revenue, with the goal of increasing donor participation, gift size, and gift frequency. This position supports CP's overall fundraising vision by stewarding entry-level, monthly, and lapsed donors, while planning and implementing annual giving programs and campaigns. In addition to annual giving responsibilities, this role works closely with the Development & Marketing team to support development and marketing strategies and initiatives that advance CP's mission and grow community awareness. The Development Coordinator also oversees CP's All Included program, championing inclusion through advocacy, education, and opportunity. The role directly impacts donor relationships, community visibility, and the financial performance of the department. Core competencies include donor stewardship, gift processing, reporting, campaign management, event planning, impact reports, marketing support, and community engagement.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Serve as the lead steward for individual donors below $3,000. Responsible for the strategy, development, and implementation of a comprehensive annual giving plan designed to broaden CP's donor base and increase overall participation and financial support. a. Engage entry-level donors to encourage repeat giving, increased donations, and/or monthly commitments. b. Segment donor base to create personalized appeals that optimize response rates, average gift size, and retention. c. Evaluate and report results from appeals and campaigns and develop benchmarks for future strategies. d. Collaborate with Marketing Specialist to develop campaign materials including direct mail, email, and social media. e. Implement strategies for lapsed donor re-engagement and evaluate outcomes. f. Oversee online donor engagement including peer-to-peer fundraising and digital giving. g. Develop and coordinate an employer giving program. h. Collaborate with the Major Gifts Coordinator to identify and cultivate annual donors with potential to move into the major gift pipeline. Develop and/or coordinate CP's community engagement efforts. a. Plan and implement Annual Giving events including CP Game Changers . b. Serve as main contact and CP representative for all third-party events. c. Represent CP at community engagement events or coordinate participation with other departments. d. Oversee CP's All Included program, advancing inclusion through advocacy, education, and opportunity. e. Recruit, train, and support volunteers under role as needed. Collaborate with Development & Marketing team members to support development and marketing strategies and initiatives. Responsible for maintaining CP's Raffle License and keeping accurate documentation of all raffles held with CP's Raffle License. Assist in the planning of CP's annual Telethon event. a. Recruit approximately 100 community panel participants across 10 panels. b. Oversee Telethon online donations. c. Process Telethon pledges and donations and ensure timely acknowledgments. Assist in maintaining the donor database system. a. Enter gifts, receipts, and acknowledgments. b. Run and maintain clean lists and queries. c. Keep donor profiles accurate and updated. d. Continue to stay up to date and informed about CRM best practices. Work with Accounting to code and receipt daily donations (checks, credit cards, online transactions). Attend all agency events when possible. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development & Marketing. Adhere to agency safety policies and procedures.EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, marketing of similar field preferred. Two or more years' experience in fundraising, customer service, and/or marketing. Demonstrated record of accomplishment in annual fund development and implementation, knowledge of fundraising principles and techniques, and direct mail appeals and newsletters. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook required. Knowledge in Neon or other CRM software is desired. Ability to organize workload and prioritize projects with competing deadlines. Must be well organized, detail oriented, and have strong critical thinking skills, with a proven ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills must be well versed in communications, as well as personable and approachable. Must always have a positive attitude and strong degree of professionalism. Ability to be discrete and maintain donor confidentiality. Some functions occur after normal working hours and may require all Donor Development & Marketing team staff to be present.
