Position Summary Shawano Area United Way is seeking a collaborative, strategic, and community-minded professional to serve as Housing Coalition Coordinator for the Shawano-Menominee Housing Coalition. This new, grant-funded role is ideal for a skilled facilitator and relationship builder who can bring diverse partners together, strengthen regional understanding of housing needs, and guide the coalition in developing a practical long-term strategy. This is a part-time, limited-term position working approximately 20-30 hours per week (.5-.75 FTE), with grant funding secured through September 2027. The Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and provides coordination and leadership support for the Shawano-Menominee Housing Coalition. Compensation is $25-$30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include paid holiday leave, a flexible work environment, office space, and computer equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Primary deliverable: Lead the development and presentation of a three- to five-year written strategic plan for the Housing Coalition by September 2027 that is the property of the Shawano Area United Way upon completion.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate regular coalition meetings, including agendas, materials, follow-up, and action tracking.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with community organizations, local leaders, service providers, residents, and other stakeholders across Shawano and Menominee Counties. This includes the WI Balance of State at the regional coalition level.
- Coordinate the collection, analysis, and presentation of housing-related data to help the coalition identify needs, gaps, assets, and opportunities.
- Support inclusive community engagement and communicate coalition priorities to the broader public. This may include in person community presentations, social media posts, or written newsletter articles.
- Provide monthly written reports on progress for the Board of Directors
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications It is preferred that candidates reside in Shawano County or Menominee County but outside applicants will be considered as well.
The successful candidate will bring:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and clear presentation.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, build consensus, and move groups from discussion to action.
- Sound analytical, organizational, and project-planning skills.
- Ability to develop long-term strategies, translate ideas into achievable steps, and monitor progress.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and comfort working with data, reports, and presentation materials.
- Commitment to working respectfully and effectively across cultures, sectors, and communities with integrity and professionalism. Preferred Experience
- Experience leading community-based initiatives, coordinating coalitions or cross-sector partnerships, and contributing to strategic planning is preferred. Relevant professional, volunteer, or lived experience will be considered. Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Work is primarily performed in an office setting with communal areas.
- Work requires potentially long periods of desk and computer work.
- May work in outdoor weather conditions.
- Routinely requires the ability to move or transport supplies or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted. Other Requirements
- Must obtain/maintain an account with a financial institution for direct deposit of paychecks.
