Cheyenne, Wyoming Position type: Full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA service position Position Summary Lion's Disability Transport Service provides transportation throughout Laramie County for people with disabilities who cannot access other transportation options. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will help strengthen Lion's Disability Transport Service's internal systems, volunteer program, community partnerships, data collection, and funding resources. The position primarily involves program development and capacity building rather than directly providing transportation services. Primary Responsibilities Develop volunteer recruitment, training, and retention procedures. Create internal guides, templates, and other resources for staff and volunteers. Improve processes for collecting and reporting program data. Assist with community outreach and partnership development. Research grant and funding opportunities. Help develop fundraising and sustainability resources. Support the continued development of the organization's dispatch system. Create outreach, communications, and public-relations materials. Develop training resources for staff, volunteers, and community partners. Preferred Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Good organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer and document-development skills Interest in nonprofit management, disability services, or community development Experience with grant writing, fundraising, volunteer coordination, outreach, or data collection is helpful but not required AmeriCorps VISTA Benefits Current Wyoming living allowance of $983.36 gross every two weeks , subject to applicable AmeriCorps rates Health benefits during service Training and professional-development opportunities 10 personal-leave days and 10 medical-leave days Childcare assistance, if eligible Upon successful completion, the choice of a $7,395 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or a $1,800 end-of-service cash stipend One year of noncompetitive eligibility for certain federal positions after successful completion of service Ability to attend school or work another job during non-service hours, consistent with AmeriCorps requirements Position Requirements This is a full-time , one-year national-service position and is not traditional salaried employment. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, meet all AmeriCorps VISTA eligibility and enrollment requirements, and successfully complete the criminal history screening required by AmeriCorps before beginning service.
