Youth Ministry Assistant Presbyterian Church of Novato Novato, CA Job Details Part-time $25 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications Parent communication Working with students Working with youth Full Job Description Job Summary The Youth Ministry Assistant supports the ministry of Presbyterian Church of Novato with middle school and high school students by assisting in the preparation, coordination, and execution of youth ministry programs, events, and relational connection points. This role helps ensure that youth ministry environments are welcoming, organized, safe, and well supported. The Youth Ministry Assistant works closely with the Director of Family Ministry to support youth ministry operations, volunteer coordination, communication, and weekly program readiness in ways that help students and families feel known, welcomed, and encouraged. Duties Assist with the preparation and support of weekly youth ministry gatherings, classes, meals, discussions, and activities (in particular for Sunday programs and Grace Generation). Help set up materials, supplies, rooms, and logistics for youth programming. Support the flow of youth ministry environments and help create a welcoming, relational, and orderly atmosphere. Assist students, leaders, and volunteers with practical needs during ministry gatherings. Help maintain a positive and engaging environment for students. Assist with communication, registration, materials, supply coordination, and practical planning for youth events, retreats, service opportunities, and seasonal activities. Help maintain organized records, calendars, forms, and ministry materials. Support follow-up tasks and recurring administrative details related to youth ministry. Assist the Director of Family Ministry with preparation for Grace Generation and other youth-related gatherings. Help communicate with youth volunteers, mentors, and leaders regarding schedules, reminders, materials, and event logistics. Assist in welcoming, orienting, and supporting volunteers involved in youth programming. Help ensure volunteers have what they need to serve effectively. Collaborate with and help coordinate volunteers supporting youth ministry environments. Assist with routine communication with students and parents as assigned. Help communicate schedule updates, event details, reminders, and ministry opportunities clearly and promptly. Support a ministry culture of responsiveness, encouragement, and consistency. Support compliance with Safe Church, youth protection, transportation, and event procedures as applicable. Help maintain orderly, safe, and well-managed ministry environments. Report any concerns, incidents, or practical needs promptly to the Director of Family Ministry.
