POSITION SUMMARY
To work with the pastor to coordinate the parish music ministry and liturgical planning programs for all ages. To be responsible for the coordination of choir(s) utilized within the parish.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
(other duties may be assigned) Major Areas of Responsibility To be responsible for planning and/or ensure that music is provided at parish liturgies including Masses, Funerals, Weddings, etc. Responsible for directing the children choir. Responsible for forming instrumental music groups or individual soloists. Responsible for training cantors as needed. Be proficient in piano and organ keyboards. Specific Responsibilities Prepare and play at daily Masses every week. Prepare and play at Sunday Mass with the children choir once a month. Be willing to prepare and play at other weekend Masses as needed. Prepare music slides for Masses as needed. Actively recruit new choir members, cantors and musicians. Assist the Pastor in implementing all parish practices as defined in the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM). Be prepared to plan music for Parish Weddings, Funerals, Quinceañeras, Reconciliation Services, Stations of the Cross, Vespers, Processions, Parish Retreats, etc. Responsible to introduce new music and Mass settings to the congregation and respective choirs. Responsible for preparation of all printed programs containing musical selections for the parish. Responsible to work within the budget for Music Ministry, to meet with the Pastor on a regular schedule. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY
Fully initiated, practicing Catholic preferred with good communication and leadership skills. Must be proficient in piano and organ keyboards, with a familiarity of a variety of musical instruments. Knowledge of sacred music and chants preferred. Must have experience working in a church liturgical setting, background in religious studies and theology preferred. Education and/or

Language Skills:
Must have ability to communicate effectively and have strong interpersonal skills. Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Workday (must have knowledge of Workday or be willing to learn)
Other Requirements:
Able to work evenings and weekends as needed. Ability to interact and collaborate with both volunteers and staff. Strong oral and written communication skills. Self-motivated and reliable.
Salary Range:
$25.00 - $31.00 per hour based on education and experience. When playing and singing at Mass, a different rate of $125.00 per Sunday Mass or Solemnity, and $62.5 per daily Mass is applied. How to
