This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Regular Sunday availability is required and occasional special events or liturgical celebrations.
Hours:
Approximately 15 hours per week
Pay Rate:
$20-24 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
Reports To:
Pastor Position Summary This position supports the Pastor and mission of St Louis parish and includes organizing faith formation for children and families, supporting catechists and volunteers, coordinating sacramental preparation, and assisting with parish communications related to Religious Education. Responsibilities Support parish religious education and faith formation programs. Assist with planning and coordinating classes, meetings, retreats, and parish ministry activities. Prepare materials and resources needed for religious education and ministry programs. Communicate with families, volunteers, catechists, and parish staff as needed. Assist with registration, attendance, records, and other administrative duties related to ministry programs. Support parish liturgies, sacramental preparation, and special parish events as assigned. Recruit, support, and communicate with ministry volunteers. Maintain confidentiality and handle parish and family information appropriately. Participate in staff meetings, training, and parish formation opportunities as required. Perform other duties consistent with the position and the mission of the parish. Requirements:
Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043). Knowledge and understanding of Catholic teachings, traditions, and practices. Experience working with children, youth, families, volunteers, or parish ministries preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with clergy, staff, and volunteers. Professional, dependable, and welcoming manner. Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
