Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Director of Religious Education to lead and inspire our faith community's educational programs. This vital role involves developing innovative religious curriculum, fostering spiritual growth, and nurturing a welcoming environment for youth ranging from preschool through high school. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant energy, strong leadership skills, and a deep commitment to faith-based education, ensuring that our programs resonate with community members and support their spiritual journeys. Responsibilities Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive Sunday School programs for children and youth that align with our faith principles and community needs. Lead and mentor a team of teachers, volunteers, and program coordinators to ensure high-quality instruction and engagement. Lead and organize Good Friday youth activities, Children's Day worship, and Christmas Eve service, recruit volunteer leaders for Christmas Pageant and Vacation Bible School and provide oversight. Responsible for a Children's Message during Sunday Service when Sunday School is not in session. Collaborate with Pastor and the Board of Religious Education to integrate faith-based teachings into broader church activities and outreach initiatives. Foster an inclusive environment that encourages working with children of all backgrounds while promoting social work principles such as mentoring and support. Preferably be a member or willing to become a member of church Experience Proven experience in religious education or faith-based teaching roles, with demonstrated leadership in program development. Experience with working with children and knowledge of child development stages for age appropriate lessons and communication. Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with diverse age groups and community members. Experience in event planning, social media practices, or related fields that enhance community engagement. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects efficiently. Pay:
$17,000.00 - $19,000.00 per year
