The Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Chapel provides spiritual readiness and worship opportunities for Joint Forces leaders and members in the National Capital Region and supports American's religious freedoms around the globe. We are looking for a partner in ministry to join our growth-team, focused on the needs of our Protestant Christian community. We are seeking a motivated, professional and passionate Protestant Parish Coordinator to build Christian community and create ministry events. This is a part-time position awarded as a Chapel Tithes and Offering Fund (CTOF) Contract and is considered a non-personal services contract. The contractor to whom this position is awarded will work with the Senior Protestant Chaplain to fulfill Chapel requirements as outlined in a Performance of Work Statement. The ideal candidate will be positive, self-directed, motivated, and able to communicate and work well with people of all ages while supporting the larger ecumenical and interfaith mission of the pluralistic environment of the Air Force Chaplain Corps. Prospective contractors must have the following qualifications: Work or volunteer experience as a ministry director in a similar or related field. The preferred candidate shall have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a position equivalent to that of a Protestant Parish Coordinator. Must have knowledge and experience in the use of computer equipment and Microsoft Office software programs. Candidates who have at least two (2) years of experience developing and utilizing financial budgets for an organization will receive preferential consideration in the interview process. Must be able to receive clearance from a background investigation IAW Public Law 101- 647, Section 231 (Crime Control Act of 1990 and DODI 1402.5, Criminal History Background Checks on Individuals in Child Care Service Position ). An adverse finding from this investigation may result in termination of services. Must participate in a qualifying interview and be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of the Protestant faith, practices, and traditions. Be capable of performing the required services with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Protestant Community communication and coordination: produce, publish and distribute weekly newsletters, worship bulletins, social media presence, and in-person meetings and programs. Worship and Event planning and execution: assist in planning and executing worship services, weekly bible studies, special ministry events and retreats, and Vacation Bible School.
Budgeting and purchasing:
assist in developing and executing a budget to build and empower the Protestant worship community of JBAB Chapel.
Volunteer recruiting and training:
Actively seek volunteers from the Protestant worship community and larger JBAB community, assist in skill and gift development, maintain records. Prospective contractors can pick up the Performance of Work Statement (PWS), the Basis of Award, and bid sheet from the JBAB Chapel Center reception office Monday- Friday from 0730-1530 or by email request to .
Required Items:
A résumé which contains academic and work-related references documenting past work performance, three letters of recommendation, a technical proposal which includes a sample newsletter and sealed bid/price sheet (in a separate envelope). These combined items must be received by the CTOF Contracting Officer, Ch, Maj Jesse Brown, at the Chapel Center on 310 Angell St SW, Washington DC 20032, no later than 4:00 p.m. EDT, 28 July 2026.
