Director of Children's Ministry Summary The Director of Children's Ministry at Marietta FUMC will be a passionate follower of Jesus Christ who is committed to the church's mission of making disciples for the transformation of the world. This person will lead children's faith formation from birth through 5th grade by creating engaging, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate opportunities for children and families. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative, adaptable, and experienced in children's ministry, with strong communication skills and the ability to equip staff and volunteers. Qualifications Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for sharing God's love with children and families Bachelor's degree in child development, education, ministry, or a related field 3-5 years of experience working with children and children's programming Clean background check Responsibilities Education Lead and develop children's ministry programming for birth through 5th grade. Oversee Sunday morning Children's Worship (K-3rd grade) and Power 45 (once a month programming for 4th-5th grade). Manage Sunday School curriculum, teacher support, and volunteer training. Partner with the Associate Director to support nursery programming and faith formation for infants-4K. Plan and oversee special events including VBS, Easter, Christmas, and Fall Festival. Participate in ministry training, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development. Volunteers & Collaboration Recruit, train, support, and appreciate children's ministry volunteers. Work with the Children's Ministry Team to develop ways to connect children and families to the church. Collaborate with other ministry areas, including youth, music, worship, missions, and Weekday Ministry. Build relationships with church groups to encourage involvement and support. Create opportunities for family engagement through Bible studies, programs, and faith-building experiences. Safe Sanctuary Oversee Safe Sanctuary training and maintain accurate volunteer records. Ensure safe check-in/check-out procedures and attendance practices for all children's programs. Administration Develop and manage the children's ministry budget, supplies, and resources. Maintain accurate family and volunteer records. Promote children's programs within the church and community. Communicate opportunities for families to participate in the life of the church. Schedule This is a full time, 40 hour per week position Sunday - Thursday with occasional nights/weekends as agreed upon.
