Job Description

St. Lawrence Episcopal Church seeks a passionate, creative, and organized Director of Children & Youth Ministry to lead and expand ministries serving children, youth, and families. The Director will be an integral member of the parish staff, collaborating closely with the Rector, staff, volunteers, and families to nurture faith formation and create meaningful opportunities for young people to encounter God and participate fully in the life of the Church. Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee weekly Sunday morning formation programs for children and youth. Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteer leaders

Ensure compliance with all safeguarding requirements and diocesan policies

Foster opportunities for children and youth to participate actively in worship. Coordinate the parish's Open Play ministry at the Libertyville Farmers' Market

Manage the Children & Youth Ministry budget

Collaborate with parish staff to create newsletters, announcements, website content, and social media communication

Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate will demonstrate: A passion for working and connecting with children, youth, and families. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Experience in Christian education, youth ministry, or related ministry settings. Experience with Godly Play preferred, but not required.

Familiarity with Episcopal liturgy and theology, or a willingness to learn and embrace the Episcopal tradition. Type of Commitment
