Job Description

Sacred Heart and Our Lady Help of Christians Collaborative is a welcoming and highly-engaged collaborative comprised of two parishes in Newton, MA. We are looking to add a part-time Ministry Assistant to our excellent team. The person in this position will work primarily at Sacred Heart Parish and will report to the Coordinator of Pastoral Care. We are looking for a compassionate and organized individual who appreciates working collaboratively as part of a team and who can connect with people of various ages and levels of familiarity with the Catholic faith. Responsibilities, which are shared with other staff, include: Coordination of and presence at Sacred Heart Saturday Vigil Mass approximately twice per month Pastoral presence at Sacred Heart Sunday morning Masses and events Involvement in: OCIA and Adult Confirmation programs, outreach ministry to elderly and homebound parishioners Leading of wake and graveside prayer services
Salary and Benefits:
As a part-time ministerial employee, pay will be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
some experience in parish ministry is preferred, but we are open to training the right candidate seeking their first job in ministry some educational background in theology or ministry is preferred
Physical Performance Elements:
Ability to use a computer keyboard up to 8 hours/day Ability to sit up to 8 hours/day Ability to lift up to 20 pounds Supervision and Support will include: Teamwork Feedback Directly Reports to:
