Director of Religious Education (75% time) First Religious Society of Carlisle Carlisle, MA Job Details Part-time $75,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Teamwork Youth engagement in pastoral work Teaching Educational program management Interpersonal communication Full Job Description Job Overview We are a Unitarian Universalist congregation in Carlisle, Massachusetts. We are actively seeking a Director of Religious Education to lead our thriving religious education program and welcome new families into our community. Outside of Sundays, the hours are flexible, and this position has the potential to grow.
All are welcome to apply: religious educators, teachers, ministers, and lay leaders, with priority going to applicants with experience working with children in a church setting. We are looking for someone who feels a sense of calling to nurture the spiritual life of children and families. The ideal candidate is creative, warm, collaborative, and organized, with excellent communication skills and a genuine love of teaching children. The director will work closely with our Director of Family Ministry, our minister, and many engaged parents and parishioners.
In 2019, FRS was named a Breakthrough Congregation by the UUA, and featured in , for our teen-led religious education model. Our 80 enrolled children enjoy a vibrant spiritual setting that offers a robust menu of events and opportunities for engagement throughout the year. Our community enjoys being together. Some examples of our gatherings include: Coming of Age OWL Neighboring Faiths weekly youth group interfaith service projects with local communities crafting activities with a focus on nature fall and spring youth fundraisers We are a Welcoming Congregation and consider all applicants without regard to age, race, religious heritage, gender identity, sexual or affectional orientation, socioeconomic status, disability, or ethnicity.
