Protestant Religious Education Coordinator $20 per hour | Part-time | Keesler AFB, Mississippi Do you have the leadership experience to guide religious education for children, youth, and adults? Are you confident coordinating volunteers, events, and ministry activities within a respectful military chapel environment? The role Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi is seeking a Protestant Religious Education Coordinator to support the 81st Training Wing Chapel community. This part-time 1099 contract averages 20 hours per week. You will organize and deliver Protestant religious education throughout the year, including summer and seasonal programming.

Key Responsibilities You will:

Coordinate programs for adults, youth, and children Plan Bible studies, classes, seasonal events, and special programs Recruit, train, schedule, and support chapel volunteers Visit classes and guide volunteer teachers Maintain attendance records, program files, budgets, and calendars Prepare newsletters, flyers, announcements, and event information Coordinate funding requests, supplies, facilities, and chapel resources Attend chapel meetings and planning sessions Support virtual programming when required Follow Air Force, chapel, security, copyright, and safety requirements The Benefits Flexible schedule averaging 20 hours per week Part-time 1099 contract Chapel workspace and resources provided Opportunity to support military members and their families Potential contract term of up to five years The person You will need at least five years of paid ministry leadership experience, including two years in religious education and program management. You should have experience coordinating events, overseeing volunteers, leading Bible studies, and providing strong customer service. Active attendance at a Protestant church or chapel is required, together with a letter of endorsement from your current pastor or chaplain. Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills are needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while a related bachelor's degree is preferred. You must communicate clearly in English and work independently.
