Specifically, at FHUMC, these current duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Individually:
  • Develop and implement programs and ministries for youth grades 6-12
  • Offer training and educational opportunities for volunteers
  • Engage in open communication with youth, parents and volunteers on a regular basis
  • Organize and recruit/lead mission teams and youth retreats
  • Coordinate curriculum for all youth programs
  • Submit budget request and maintain line items in reference to Youth Ministry areas
  • Plan and implement Confirmation classes
  • Maintain a strong base of volunteers for youth ministry
  • Offer pastoral care to youth and parents, when appropriate
  • Abide by and uphold FHUMC Safe Sanctuaries Shared
  • Encourage youth participate in the larger congregation of FHUMC
  • Participate in leading worship as requested
  • Assist in worship planning as needed
  • Spirit of respect and collaboration with Clergy and staff of FHUMC
  • Church Council Meeting
  • Other church meetings as needed All of the above are subjected to change, based upon the needs of FHUMC and the needs of other staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated commitment to Christian discipleship. Understanding of the theological tradition of The United Methodist Church and a willingness to develop ministries that are consistent with the UMC. Bachelor's Degree in related field of study preferred, along with experience in the church setting. Ability to work with both clergy and laity to promote a comprehensive youth ministry where people love God, grow in their faith and serve others.
