Overview:
Literacy Volunteers of Morris County (LVMC), a nonprofit organization established in 1987, provides free, individualized, confidential tutoring to adult Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and those seeking to improve their ability to read and write or obtain their high school equivalency diploma. With more than 200 trained and supported volunteer tutors, LVMC currently serves 400 adults throughout Morris County, NJ through one-to-one tutoring, classes, and conversation groups. Tutoring is conducted both in person and remotely.LVMC believes that the ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English is essential for personal freedom and the sustainability of a democratic society.
