Director of Youth Religious Education

Namaqua Unitarian Universalist Congregation is a dynamic, progressive congregation of 120 adult members and 16 children and youth located in Loveland, Colorado. We are seeking someone to be part of the NUUC Family Ministry Staff as a teacher for our children.

Hours:

10 hours/week including 2 hours each Sunday from 9:30 am-11:30 am at the church buildings. The remaining hours will include reviewing the upcoming lessons, coordinating with an assistant and/or parent helpers, and working with parents to provide a rich and fun program in alignment with our religious values.

Compensation:

Salaried $12,850-$15,725/year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

Serving our children and youth through teaching our Sunday morning curricula and other programming Familiarize oneself with each week's curriculum; gain needed materials Coordinate with an assistant and/or parent helpers in planning the session Facilitate the session in an engaging and friendly way that uses appropriate, respectful, and fun classroom management Collaborate with parent volunteers to effectively support the class Pick up and put away all materials and clear the space after class

Required Qualifications:

Comfortable working in a liberal religious setting with children and families Experience teaching children and/or middle school youth in a group setting Basic understanding of child development Experience and comfort with classroom management Ability to work independently and collaborate with volunteers and staff Effective verbal and written communication Please feel free to visit our website to learn more about us!
