This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position is hosted by the Public & School Partnership and is based at the Utah Assistive Technology Program's office in Vernal, UT. The Utah Assistive Technology Program (UATP) is a federally funded program serving individuals with disabilities of all ages throughout the state of Utah. Their goal is to provide assistive technology devices and services and train university students, parents, children with disabilities, and professional service providers about assistive technology. In addition, they coordinate their services with community organizations and others who provide independence-related support to individuals with disabilities.

• This position is based at UATP's St.

George office Successful completion of a one-year service term qualifies all VISTA members for either an education award of $7,395 or a cash stipend of $1800 (direct deposit). The pay, a living stipend, is $1914.92 per month.

Responsibilities:

- Support UATP's activities by identifying, loaning, fabricating, and instructing Assistive Technology (AT)) that support low-income individuals with disabilities to achieve greater independence at home and work. Serving 200 individuals with disabilities in Northern Utah. - Increase outreach impact by developing online resources for individuals with disabilities who search for resources from their home or library. - Add previous Assistive Technology solutions to Instructabile and create a template for adding future solutions. Develop open-source online instructions for DIY Assistive Technology and provide a framework to train future volunteers. - Develop a curriculum and recruit volunteers for UAPT programs and improve quality of Assistive Technology solutions produced by volunteers. - Develop a volunteer management framework that will increase UATP's ability to accept more volunteers.
