The Director of Formation is responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, and execution of the Basilica's faith formation ministries designed to engage, educate, and empower adults and children (through 5th grade). The Director also oversees the necessary preparations for the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, and those entering the Church through the OCIA. This position is regular, part-time (25 hours a week). The Director is to maintain a presence in the office, as well as a frequent presence at weekend liturgies. The Director's work schedule and weekly hours may be reviewed from time to time. The ideal candidate holds a master's degree in Theology, Theological Studies, or Religious Education, or equivalent education with a minimum of seven to ten years of parish-based ministry experience. Must be an active member of the Catholic Church with an understanding of the teaching and mission of the Church. The candidate should possess leadership abilities in planning, administration, volunteer management; demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills; exhibit strong organizational skills, including time management, delegation, planning, and budgeting; have an ability to work independently and organize and arrange priorities, completing tasks in a timely manner.
