Job Description
Overview We are seeking a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to plan, implement, and manage the Roman Catholic Religious Education (RE) program at Fairchild AFB. This position supports active-duty personnel, dependents, and authorized chapel parishioners through catechetical instruction and sacramental preparation. Responsibilities Manages Catholic Religious Education (RE) programs, Sacramental Preparation (RCIA, First Communion, Confirmation), and Vacation Bible School (VBS). Recruits, trains, and tracks volunteer catechists, organizing an annual catechist training event and a volunteer appreciation event. Manages program publicity, updates chapel bulletins, maintains social media, and supplies information racks. Submits weekly attendance reports, program rosters, and monthly AFCCARS data files. Enforces DoD child protection standards, maintaining line-of-sight supervision and background check compliance for volunteers working with minors. Coordinates facility access, orders supplies, and maintains RE classrooms and storage spaces. Qualifications High School diploma required (Bachelor's degree preferred). Minimum 1 year of paid or volunteer experience in Catholic Religious Education or related ministry. Must provide a signed letter certifying experience from a previous supervisor or ministry leader. Enrolled in or holding a Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF) Certificate in Catechesis (Level 1 & 2). Must obtain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications within 90 days. Must clear a Child Care Criminal History Background Check (CCNAC-I), including FBI fingerprinting, financial, and driving record reviews.
