Worship Director (Part-Time) General Description Meeting in the heart of Kirkland, Washington, Lakeside is a growing fellowship of Christians. Essential Competencies and Skills Dynamic Leadership, Administration, & Communication Demonstrates exceptional public speaking, stage presence, and leadership abilities. Able to engage the congregation and create an inviting atmosphere that encourages participation in worship. Communicates clearly, confidently, and authentically with staff, volunteers, and congregation members. Effectively manages schedules, practices, service planning, volunteer coordination, and ministry communications. Technology & Production Working knowledge of Planning Center, ProPresenter, PowerPoint, and other worship-related software. Collaborates effectively with sound, media, livestream, and technical teams to create a cohesive worship experience. Initiative & Creativity Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. Brings creativity, innovation, and fresh ideas to worship planning and ministry development. Takes initiative to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the worship ministry. Relationship Building & Volunteer Development Demonstrates the ability to recruit, train, mentor, and encourage volunteers. . Character & Integrity Demonstrates spiritual maturity, integrity, professionalism, and reliability. Supports and models the beliefs, values, and mission of Lakeside Christian Church. Musical Proficiency Proficient in leading worship vocally while accompanying on guitar and/or piano/keyboard. Demonstrates a working knowledge of music theory, chord structures, song arrangements, and worship team dynamics. Able to teach, coach, and collaborate with musicians and vocalists of varying skill levels. Possesses a broad knowledge of contemporary worship music and worship ministry best practices. Specific Responsibilities and Expectations Worship Ministry Leadership Direction, and leadership for the worship ministry of Lakeside Christian Church. Cultivate a worship culture that is authentic, engaging, Christ-centered, and aligned with the mission of Lakeside. Evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of worship gatherings and ministry systems. Work closely with church leadership to ensure worship ministry supports the overall direction of the church. Volunteer Recruitment & Development Recruit, train, mentor, schedule, and encourage worship and production team volunteers. Create opportunities for spiritual growth, skill development, and community among team members. Worship Event Planning Plan and execute worship gatherings and special services throughout the year, including holiday services and church-wide events. Administrative Leadership Maintain volunteer schedules and ministry communication through Planning Center and other approved platforms. Manage song libraries, worship resources, service plans, and related ministry materials. Coordinate worship ministry needs with staff and volunteers to ensure services are prepared and executed effectively. Facility & Platform Stewardship Ensure the platform and worship spaces are organized, functional, and prepared for ministry use. Coordinate stage setup and reset as needed, particularly following facility rental events. Assist in maintaining worship ministry equipment and communicating equipment needs to church leadership. Weekly Worship Responsibilities Service Planning Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and ministry staff to develop worship services that support the sermon theme and ministry objectives. Select songs, readings, prayers, and other worship elements that contribute to a cohesive worship experience. Prepare and distribute service plans, charts, lyrics, and supporting materials to volunteers in a timely manner. Volunteer Coordination Communicate weekly with worship and tech team volunteers regarding schedules, expectations, and service details. Lead and coordinate rehearsals that are organized, efficient, and encouraging. Service Preparation & Follow-Up Arrive early to prepare and test equipment, finalize platform setup, and ensure all worship elements are ready. Coordinate with technical volunteers to ensure smooth service execution. Reset and organize the worship space following services and rehearsals. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Music or a related field is preferred . Experience Two to five years of worship leadership or ministry experience preferred . Doctrinal Agreement Be in agreement with the doctrinal statement of Lakeside Christian Church. Compensation & Benefits Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, demonstrated competencies, and ministry qualifications. Benefits may vary based on employment classification and hours worked.
