Job Description

I OVERVIEW
This position collaborates with the Cathedral Pastor, the Director of Pastoral Ministries, the Pastoral Assistant for Children's Faith Formation, and other staff in implementing the mission of the parish for Children's Faith Formation. The CFF Associate is a member of the Faith Formation Department and works under the supervision of the Pastoral Assistant for
CFF. II PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CFF ASSOCIATE
The CFF Associate works with the Pastoral Assistant for Children's Faith Formation to coordinate the Children's Faith Formation programs at St. James Cathedral. Primary responsibilities of the CFF Associate include:
CFF Program Registrar:
o Assist with registration table after Masses in August and September o Create and maintain weekly attendance sheets for CFF classes o Manage sign in/sign out procedures o Record and track attendance in parish systems o Collect and track baptism certificates and required documents for children preparing for sacraments o Support sacrament record entry and contacting churches of baptism o Ensure Safe Environment policies are followed
CFF Administrative Support:
o Coordinate room reservations for all CFF programs and events o Track program expenses and maintain purchase documentation o Assist with annual calendars and Catechist Orientation materials o Order curriculum and sacramental preparation materials o Prepare catechist folders and classroom materials o Coordinate communications, including Director's weekly mailings to catechists and parents o Provide general office support for the program
Sunday Program Support:
o Lock/unlock building, monitor safety, be present o Prepare materials and set up classrooms and hallway environment o Clean up and put away o Prepare and set up hospitality for parent gatherings and other parish events o Support Cathedral Family Christmas Party and Catholic Schools Fair o Support First Sunday Youth Celebrations and other Youth Masses (about 12 per year) Support Youth Ministry and Young Adult Ministry Programs o Collaborates with the Pastoral Assistant for Youth and Young Adult Ministry as needed to support the program and events
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate for this position will: Have a strong commitment to excellence in catechesis for children Be able to collaborate as a member of a team that includes clergy, lay staff, and volunteers Have good interpersonal skills to interact with parents and children from a wide range of backgrounds Be willing to work Sundays, September-May, as well as key liturgical seasons Have strong organizational ability and computer skills Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
