Job Description

Job Overview S1 Recruiting is seeking a Catholic Administrative Religious Education Coordinator to support the Catholic Religious Education program at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. This is a part-time contract position supporting the Religious Support Office at Lewis Main and McChord chapel facilities. The selected coordinator will work with the Catholic priest, chaplain staff, and Director of Religious Education to organize program calendars, materials, records, and events. This is a contractor position and is not a federal civilian or military position. Location and Schedule On-site in the Joint Base Lewis-McChord/Tacoma area. Exact reporting details will be provided to the selected candidate. Schedule varies according to the approved calendar of events, meetings, and assigned tasks. Government business hours are generally 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday, but religious programming may require evening, weekend, and occasional holiday availability. This is not a traditional full-time Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM position. Key Responsibilities Attend required coordination meetings with the senior priest and chapel staff. Prepare and maintain the monthly Catholic Religious Education calendar, including regular programs, seasonal events, chapel activities, holidays, and Holy Days. Prepare facility reservation requests and publicity flyers for Religious Education services and events. Track weekly program attendance and prepare required monthly reports. Format, organize, copy, and distribute curriculum materials and supplies for regular and seasonal programs. Set up and reset classrooms or Religious Education spaces after program activities. Track consumed materials and supplies. Collect supporting sacramental documentation and prepare records in the Archdiocese for the Military Services portal for priest review and signature. Coordinate professionally with clergy, government staff, volunteers, families, and members of different faith backgrounds. Required Qualifications Ability to obtain Archdiocese for the Military Services Catechist certification within 90 days of contract award. Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to prepare emails, minutes, bulletins, flyers, calendars, and reports. Proficiency with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong organization, accuracy, discretion, and follow-through. Professional and respectful conduct in a pluralistic military religious-support environment. Ability to meet installation-access requirements and successfully complete a Tier 1 background investigation with State Criminal History Repository checks. Ability to complete required government training after selection, including antiterrorism, operations security, cybersecurity, personally identifiable information, and child-protection training. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Catholic religious education, parish administration, catechesis, or sacramental preparation. Experience in a military Catholic religious-support program. Experience working with children, families, volunteers, and faith-formation programs.
