1.0 Position Overview Linfield University is seeking a motivated and dynamic Admission Counselor to join our enrollment services team. This role is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment programs and activities to enroll new undergraduate students. The Admission Counselor serves as a key representative of the University, engaging with prospective students, families, and partners while managing recruitment strategies across assigned territories. Key Responsibilities Coordinate student recruitment strategy for assigned geographic regions, including CRM management, documentation of student interactions, presentations, communications, and application review. Independently plan and manage recruitment strategies, including travel, group presentations, receptions, and individual meetings. Travel regularly to high schools, community colleges, and college fairs to meet counselors, students, and families. Conduct outreach to high schools and independent educational consultants. Participate in evening and weekend events, including panels, fairs, and recruitment programs. Support efforts to build a diverse and inclusive applicant pool, with attention to underrepresented students. Collaborate with internal partners including athletics, financial aid, residence life, and academic departments. Work with alumni, students, faculty, and coaches to support recruitment efforts. Monitor and manage travel budgets in alignment with departmental guidelines. Meet established recruitment goals and performance metrics. Contribute to recruitment programming, including open houses and off-campus events. Stay informed on demographic trends, recruitment strategies, and admission policies. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Linfield University programs, student life, and services. Attend campus events to build authentic recruitment narratives and experiences. Participate in professional development opportunities and implement best practices. Assist with marketing initiatives and direct mail campaigns. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree required. Experience and Skills Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with public speaking and group presentations. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Ability to clearly communicate the value of a liberal arts education. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and recordkeeping ability. Sound judgment, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and CRM systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and ability to be certified to operate university vehicles. Ability to travel up to 40% of the time. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed. Physical Requirements This position involves light work, including extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and wrists. Travel-related activity may include driving and moving between locations. Occasional lifting, pushing, or carrying up to 40 pounds may be required.
