Duties:
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz seeks candidates for the position of Regional First-Year Admission Advisor who will report to the Director of Undergraduate Admission. This position is based in Long Island, New York, with primary responsibilities focused on recruitment and outreach within that region. While much of the work will be conducted in the field and within the Long Island territory, the position is not considered fully remote. Occasional travel to SUNY New Paltz is a required component of this position to fulfill periodic on-campus responsibilities based upon operational needs. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, attending staff meetings, training sessions, campus events, and other institutional activities as required. The occasional travel between the employee's residence (or primary Long Island work location) and SUNY New Paltz is considered normal commuting and is not reimbursable.
Responsibilities of the position include:
Recruitment Travel
  • travel will include but not be limited to Nassau and Suffolk Counties in New York State Recruitment Territory
  • prospective first-year students in Nassau and Suffolk County as well as recruitment activity at Nassau and Suffolk Community College Application Reading and decision making College transcript, AP and IB credit evaluations High School Transcript finalizations General Information Session Presentations Regional Recruitment Events Communicate with prospective students and their families via calls, emails and virtual appointments Travel to the SUNY New Paltz campus to Participate in Undergraduate Admission events•i.
e. Open House and Accepted Student's Days, Weekend General Information Sessions Respond to emails and phone calls from prospective students, parents, college partners
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree Ability to work evenings and some weekends Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred:
Master's Degree preferred. 1-2 years of applicable job experience in university admissions
