An Enrollment or Admission Counselor reviews applications and advises on admissions decisions for private elementary and secondary schools, colleges and universities. Organizes information and promotional materials about a school, conducts interviews with students and families, reviews application materials, and works with other school or college administrators to plan admissions goals and identify financial aid resources for admitted students. May travel to meet and recruit students.
Full-Time Regional Admissions Counselor Reporting to the Director of Recruitment & Outreach, the Regional Admissions Counselor supports Weber State University's enrollment goals by recruiting prospective, transfer, and adult learner students while building relationships with schools, community partners, students, and families throughout Salt Lake County and surrounding areas. This position works remotely from a home office and travels extensively within the assigned territory to represent the university and support student recruitment efforts.
This position is based in Salt Lake County and requires the employee to maintain a home office in close proximity to the area, as they will be required to attend occasional in-person meetings. The employee will perform administrative responsibilities remotely when not traveling for recruitment events and activities. Extensive travel is required in support of recruitment activities, including overnight and extended travel periods.
Job Duties include:
Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy for prospective undergraduate students in Salt Lake County, the surrounding areas, and assigned out-of-state territories.
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, community partners, alumni, and other stakeholders to support enrollment goals and increase Weber State University's visibility.
Guide prospective students, including new freshmen, transfer students, and adult learners, through the admissions and enrollment process by providing personalized support through various communication channels, answering questions, addressing concerns, assisting with application completion, and supporting students through enrollment.
Utilize CRM systems and other data management tools to track recruitment activities, monitor applicant progress, assess communication effectiveness, and support enrollment goals.
Plan, coordinate, market, and participate in recruitment events, including high school visits, college fairs, transfer fairs, community events, Utah College Application Week (UCAW), Utah Higher Education Day (UHED), and other outreach initiatives.
Collaborate with Admissions Ambassadors by providing training, mentorship, territory-specific information, and guidance on recruitment best practices to support outreach efforts.
Research enrollment patterns, student behavior, demographic trends, and retention data to refine recruitment strategies and improve engagement and conversion rates.
Partner with university marketing, admissions, and academic departments to develop and evaluate targeted recruitment campaigns and communication strategies.
Assess communication effectiveness throughout the admissions funnel and recommend strategies to improve student engagement, application completion, and enrollment conversion.
Utilize historical enrollment data and predictive analytics to forecast recruitment outcomes, identify high-potential student populations, and inform strategic planning efforts.
Support special projects, recruitment initiatives, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Recruitment & Outreach.
Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors degree
Two years of full-time college employment experience in academic advisement, registrar's services, admissions, financial aid, student services, enrollment services, administrative experience, sales, marketing, or student leadership is highly desirable.
Must reside in close proximity to the assigned regional territory and have the ability to work independently while maintaining accountability, initiative, and productivity in a remote work environment
Required to travel extensively in support of recruitment activities, including overnight and extended travel periods.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Preferred Qualifications
