JOB TITLE
Non-Public/Private School Title I Parent Involvement Coordinator (This is a temporary fisical year position)
REPORTS TO
Federal Programs Director ( Private School Program Specialist/Private School Principal)

EXEMPT NON EXEMPT JOB DESCRIPTION
Title I Parent Coordinators:
Serves as the liaison between school and Title I parents, relaying the needs of one to the other; educates teachers and staff on how to communicate and work effectively with Title I parents as equal partners; advises and trains Title I parents on how to address issues with the leadership staff in school meetings; serves as a school-based intermediary contact for concerns and comments made by Title I parents and community members; provides referrals to community-based services for families; expands opportunities for continued learning, voluntary community service and civic participation; develops community collaborations; promotes sharing of power with Title I parents as decision-makers; helps Title I parents understand the educational system so they can become better advocates for their children's education; maintains Title I parent resource corner/room. Attend trainings and professional developments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Parent Involvement Resources:
Provides workshops, classes, and activities for Title I parents at their private school(s) on a regular basis; recruits volunteers from the community to host various workshops and classes to speak directly with Title I parents; provides materials such as event calendars, brochures, educational resources and online resources; creates opportunities for Title I parents who have limited English proficiency, or are underrepresented because of social economics or racial barriers to participate in education initiatives and enrichment workshops; provides technical assistance relating to parental involvement as needed locally or at the district level.
Program Surveys & Evaluation:
Conducts surveys to assess the needs of Title I parents at their private school(s); reviews annual Title I parent survey results to evaluate the effectiveness of their Title I parent engagement program.
Compliance:
Keeps excellent records of all parent involvement activities, reports, surveys, annual program evaluations, and communications to Title I parents. Collaborates and works with Title I Leader(s) and school administers to ensure compliance of the private school and district's parent engagement program with all state and federal guidelines.
Other:
Any other duties or responsibilities related to Title I Parent Engagement as deemed necessary by the principal.
