Job DescriptionLicensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) Achievement Pediatric Therapies Position Summary Achievement Pediatric Therapies is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and family-centered Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to provide social work services for children with developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, and other special healthcare needs in an outpatient pediatric therapy setting. The LMSW will work collaboratively with occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, schools, behavioral health providers, and families to address the psychosocial, emotional, behavioral, and environmental factors that impact each child's participation and quality of life. Essential Job Responsibilities Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify family, behavioral, emotional, social, and environmental needs. Provide individual and family counseling and support services within the scope of Alabama LMSW practice and required supervision. Develop individualized treatment goals in collaboration with the interdisciplinary therapy team. Assist children and families in developing coping skills, emotional regulation strategies, social skills, and behavioral supports. Provide parent education regarding behavior management, community resources, advocacy, and family support. Collaborate with occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, schools, and other healthcare professionals to promote coordinated care. Assist families in accessing community resources, financial assistance programs, respite services, and support organizations. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and care conferences when appropriate. Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed. Advocate for children and families to ensure access to appropriate medical, educational, and community services. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with clinic policies and payer requirements. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Alabama licensing regulations, and NASW ethical standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education. Patient Population The LMSW may provide services for children with conditions including, but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) ADHD Developmental delays Intellectual and developmental disabilities Cerebral palsy Down syndrome Genetic disorders Sensory processing challenges Behavioral and emotional disorders Anxiety and depression Trauma-related disorders Feeding disorders Other pediatric neurological or developmental diagnoses Qualifications Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program. Current Alabama Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license in good standing. Ability to practice under required supervision in accordance with Alabama law. Pediatric or behavioral health experience preferred. Experience working with children with special needs and their families strongly preferred. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of child development and family systems. Understanding of developmental disabilities and neurodiversity. Strong crisis intervention and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary pediatric therapy team. Familiarity with school systems, IEP processes, and community resources. Ability to establish therapeutic relationships with children and caregivers. Commitment to family-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the clinic. Ability to safely interact with children of varying ages, developmental levels, and behavioral needs. Ability to respond appropriately during behavioral escalations while maintaining a calm, therapeutic environment. Tuesday:
9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Thursday:
9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Additional hours may be available based on patient needs, scheduling, and clinic operations, subject to mutual agreement. Attendance during scheduled clinic hours is expected to ensure continuity of care for patients and families.
