We partner with the Alabama Department of Human Resources to provide vital services that promote safety, stability, and well-being for vulnerable children and their families. Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic TFC/CAP Family Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be a vital part of our mission to protect children and strengthen families by providing targeted support, crisis intervention, and family advocacy. Your efforts will help ensure the safety and well-being of children while empowering families to overcome challenges and achieve stability.
Note:
This position requires extensive documentation and paperwork, frequent travel, exceptional time management, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of consistently meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy and compliance with agency standards. Excellent communication skills, writing skills, and critical thinking skills are required. Responsibilities Collaborate with child protective services to develop and implement family-centered plans that promote child safety and family reunification. Conduct thorough assessments of family needs, strengths, and risks related to child welfare cases. Provide crisis intervention and management support during emergency situations involving children or families. Offer guidance on conflict management, behavioral health concerns, and effective parenting strategies. Assist families with navigating child welfare laws, family law issues, and available community resources. Document case progress accurately and maintain detailed records of all interactions and interventions. Support children's emotional well-being through behavioral health strategies and childcare best practices. Skills Strong knowledge of child protective services protocols and child welfare practices. Experience working directly with children in various settings, demonstrating patience and understanding. Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies. Excellent conflict management skills to mediate disputes within families or between parties. Background in social work, childcare, or related fields with a focus on family support services. Familiarity with family law, behavioral health principles, and community resource navigation. Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and transparency.
