Job Overview The 16th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney is seeking a full-time Victim Advocate in the Batesville office. The Advocate will provide direct services to crime victims and recruit and manage volunteer advocates. Must work respectfully, non-judgmentally and professionally with persons of all ages, races, religions, national origin, disabilities, sexual identities, immigration status, socio-economic levels. Advocate will work under the direction of the district Victim Assistance Coordinator. In order to meet victim's needs, Advocate may occasionally be required to work outside regular business hours and work in other counties in the 16th Judicial District. Reliable transportation is a must. High school diploma or GED, computer literacy including Word and Excel. Some college preferred. Bilingual language skills a plus. Detail oriented and strong record keeping and organizational skills, professional and interpersonal skills, clear judgement and maturity. Ability to handle stressful, sensitive and confidential information. Ability to solve problems in a calm and logical manner. Adaptable and flexible in job assignments and a desire to work in team situations. Social services or courtroom experience a plus.
