Part-Time (Non-Exempt), 20 hours / week, Onsite Teen Action Support Center (TASC) exists to support teens as they navigate adolescence by promoting mental health, leadership, and meaningful social connection. Through mentoring, counseling, crisis support, and youth-led initiatives, TASC supports teens on their journey to be the best version of themselves. TASC's First Steps Coordinator is a part-time position that reports to the Director of First Steps and works closely with First Steps Interns and other Program Coordinators. They will coordinate and plan quality First Steps and Next Steps activities for teens. This position will work across NWA, specifically in our Rogers and Springdale locations. Some evenings and weekends required.Responsibilities include:
❏ Facilitate group meetings with young parents at local high schools; secure resources, prep materials, paperwork/lesson plans, and ensure the meeting is prepped. ❏ Enter case notes, attendance, and other materials for group meetings into database. ❏ Gather physical resources and coordinate the distribution with clients at school groups, the Hub, the Station, or a home drop-off. ❏ Keep track of resources on hand. Purchase physical resources as needed for clients. ❏ Host group playdates with young parents. (1 in the Fall, 1 in the Spring) ❏ Coordinate and facilitate Christmas Teen Initiative with Director of First Steps. ❏ Maintain regular contact with teens, sending reminders for groups or to check in. ❏ Send emails/reminders to school counselors and social workers as needed. ❏ Coordinate Summer groups/drop-in playdates. ❏ Closely supervise all teens in your care including: awareness of all teen's names, knowledge of how to access emergency contact info, familiarity with TASC emergency procedures, constant presence with the teens on our site or out in the community, and a "hands-on" approach to overseeing the safety and wellbeing of all minors. ❏ Accountability for your duties including: punctuality, maintaining a clean and orderly work space, and thorough communication in the event of vacations, sicknesses, emergencies, etc. ❏ Follow all TASC rules and regulations.Qualifications:
- Bilingual Preferred (Spanish Speaking)
- High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
- Previous experience working with teens is preferred.
- Desire and ability to work with teens.
- Must pass reference and background checks, including sex offender registry checks.
- Must be comfortable driving.
- Able to participate in physical activities.
- Able to maintain attention and high energy or excitement for extended periods.
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance.
- Ability to assist in teaching activities.
- Good character, integrity, and adaptability.
- Enthusiasm for supporting young people.
- Must be able to spend time outdoors and tolerate various weather conditions.
- Experience with Google products, Microsoft, and Mac products required and be comfortable with technology.
