  • Handle With Care site position monitors the health and welfare of the children.
Designs a developmental program to promote the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of the children. Coordinates activities and supervises the personnel in accomplishing the goals of the program. Assists in budgeting of monies for the program.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Adheres to program yearly budget. Evaluates necessary staffing, supplies, and supplies and fundraising events, in order to accommodate hospital budget. Coordinates special events to meet NAEYC standards and KKNS needs (i.e. back to school, father and mother day events) Interfaces with the other hospital departments and hospital personnel as necessary for the continuing operations of the program and hospital. Maintain current knowledge of Early Childhood Education and Supervision through lectures, classes, in services and literature in order to properly train staff and parents. (21 hours pre year is required.) Maintains program enrollment process. Maintains application, acceptance and orientation process of new students and parents to the program. Maintains the waiting list and advises the Director on a monthly basis of the waiting list. Monitors the records of staff and children related to licensing, hospital and NAEYC standards. Performs other duties needed in order to effectively operate program according to licensing, NAEYC and hospital. (i.e newsletter, memo, parent workdays). Reviews the program goals and oversees their implementation in an appropriate curriculum. Monitors and maintains an environment that is safe, clean orderly and stimulating according to Title 22 and NAEYC. Supervises staff. Participates in hiring, dismissal, or discipline of employees. Properly train and evaluate the performance of staff according to hospital, NAYEC and Title 22.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Skills:
Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality. Exceptional patience and empathy. Four years work experience in a licensed daycare center as a teacher. Good oral and written communication and interpersonal relations skills. Pleasant, gentle, and unhurried demeanor. Ability to work well under pressure with frequent interruptions and deadlines.
Required Certifications:
PEDS First Aid Heart Saver CPR Required Education:
Sixty-six post-secondary semester or equivalent quarter units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is required. Three of these must be in infant/toddler course and three in administration.
Preferred Education:
Associate's Degree Arts degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development . Bachelor's Degree Arts degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development . Health/Safety Communicable diseases class a plus. Pay Transparency The annual salary range for this position is $22.00
